Étienne Gaboury’s architectural project files (Firm of Gaboury Lussier Sigurdson) from 1960 to the mid-1970s have been processed. The generous donations of the Winnipeg Foundation and the Government of Manitoba’s Heritage Grants Program made this project possible. The descriptions of project files are now accessible online.

St. Boniface Cathedral - construction contract - 0488-2433-346Foyer Chez Nous - plan - 0488-2450-457These files contain the projects’ administrative documents including correspondence, meeting minutes, construction tenders and contracts, schedules, specifications, quotes, work orders, certificates of payment and reports. There are also shop drawings, plans, sketches, brochures and samples of materials.

During those years, Étienne Gaboury drew plans for the construction or renovation of various buildings including churches, homes for the elderly, schools, medical clinics, community clubs, banks, houses, fire halls and administrative buildings. Of note is Precious-Blood Church, Messiah Lutheran Church, the restauration of the St. Boniface Cathedral’s ruins after the fire of 1968, the police station of St. Boniface, Villa Youville, Foyer Chez Nous, the Winnipeg Mint and the Centre culturel franco-manitobain.
